The area
A place name that means vineyard land
Oakville exists on maps and on wine labels far more than it exists as a settlement. It is an unincorporated part of Napa County occupying a stretch of the valley floor between Yountville and Rutherford, and its name is best known as an appellation attached to some of the most valuable vineyard land in California.
What is actually here is a crossroads. Oakville Cross Road connects Highway 29 to the Silverado Trail, and the Oakville Grocery at the junction has been trading for well over a century. Beyond that there is very little commercial activity that is not a winery.
The resident population is small and dispersed among the vineyards. The people who work here in large numbers mostly live elsewhere, which is a pattern repeated up and down the valley floor.
For any service at all, Oakville residents travel. The compensation is that they sit almost exactly between the county's two clusters, so both are within a reasonable drive and neither is obviously correct.
Distances
Where the providers are
Oakville is the most evenly split community in the county. There is no default answer, which makes the choice worth making deliberately.
-
13 mi S
Napa
Twenty five minutes or so down Highway 29 in normal conditions. The county's widest choice of providers, which matters if you want to compare or need something specialized.
-
5 mi N
St Helena
Considerably closer, and the upper valley's cluster of practices. The obvious choice for anything routine or anything needing repeat visits.
-
Either road
Highway 29 or the Silverado Trail
Oakville Cross Road connects both, which is a genuine advantage. The Silverado Trail is frequently the faster route south when Highway 29 is busy, and knowing that is worth a lot during harvest.

Questions
Questions from Oakville
Is there anything in Oakville?
Not for aesthetic treatment. The area is unincorporated vineyard land with a crossroads at its center and effectively no professional services. Every resident travels.
St Helena or Napa?
St Helena is closer at around five miles and handles most routine needs. Napa is about thirteen miles and offers considerably more choice. For a course of treatments, closer usually wins. For something where the injector matters a great deal, the extra distance is often worth it.
Which road should I take?
Oakville Cross Road gives you both. The Silverado Trail on the east side is often quicker southbound than Highway 29 when the valley is busy, and it is worth knowing that route before you are late for an appointment.
How do I choose a provider from here?
Start with how many visits the treatment needs. Call (707) 207-8167 and we will point you toward licensed providers in both directions so you can weigh them.
